Role overview
The British Council, Iraq is looking for applications from prospective examiners (speaking and writing) willing to join our expanding IELTS examination operation.
We are currently recruiting suitably qualified and experienced professionals to join a freelance team of IELTS Examiners who conduct tests in Baghdad and in Kurdistan. Applicants who meet all the criteria ideally will receive face-to-face training in March in Kuwait. Training may become available in Iraq as an alternative, depending on the number of short-listed applicants.
IELTS test sessions take place up to three times a month across our network of test venues. For more general information for test takers and users, please refer to the IELTS website www.ielts.org or the British Council website www.britishcouncil.org/takeielts.
Important Note: Information related to Salary, Duration, Working Hours and Annual Leaves will be discussed at the interview stage if the applicants are selected

In order to apply, please send your completed application form with scanned copies of the required certificates/diplomas and your completed version of Appendix 5 (Referees).
Please do not send us any original documents at this stage. You will bring the original documents at a later stage if you are selected to attend our face-to-face training.

Short listing, Interview and Training
- Application deadline: We should receive the applications no later than Monday, 2 February 2015. Only complete documentation will be considered.
- Interview stage: Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by email or phone before the second week of February 2015.
- Training: New Examiner training course will be held in the first week of March 2015 (3 days).
- (Please note that the above dates are tentative and subject to change if required due to unavoidable circumstances.)

Work permit and visa: all applicants must have a valid work permit and visa for work in Iraq as the British Council cannot arrange for these.
