Funded and supported by the British Council TARKIB is an exhibition dedicated to multifaceted installation artworks of emerging Iraqi artists. The show provides a platform for a new generation of artists who acknowledge the aesthetics of conflict, but are not bound by them. They seek to broaden awarness of life beyond the brink of war, pointing out immediate concerns across the country using installation art. Works presented deal with very individual searches for identity, whether national or historical, addressing tradition, beliefs, hopes and other themes connected to modern life in Iraq. The exhibition is supported by Burjbabl for Media Development, conceived and organised by Al Noor Foundation for Culture and Media and EMCUE Europe MENA Cultural Exchange.

Installation art is an artistic genre of three-dimensional works, mixed-media constructions or assemblages usually designed for a specific place and for a temporary period of time. TARKIB is a group exhibition by nine Iraqi artists and brings together a chronology of sounds, videos, objects, instruments and images that express the artists overarching ideas and talents, while exploring their place in contemporary art.

TARKIB is composed of multiple layers, within Burjbabl`s lobby, main hall, platform, garden and basement. TARKIB features a daily activity underlining the variety of contemporary art in different genres: a musical and a theatrical intervention, a parcour show, experimental films,  choreographed installation art, artists talks and a discussion as well as a lecture.
